2024 Legislative Successes
We express our deepest gratitude to New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Elected Officials, and Partners who supported and advocated for HB67, which would fund
New Mexico’s 43 County and Tribal Health Councils,
during the 2024 Legislative Session.
Thank you for being dedicated to the health
and well-being of New Mexicans!
New Mexico’s Inaugural:
2024 Legislative + Health Council Summit
The goals of these Summits are to strengthen the relationship between Health Councils and State Legislators, fostering communication and understanding of the critical role Health Councils play in improving community health.
Advocate for funding and policy changes: The summits provided a platform for health councils to advocate for increased funding and supportive policies that would enable them to effectively address health disparities and improve health outcomes in their communities.
Enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing among health councils: The summits facilitated networking and information exchange among health councils, allowing them to learn from each other's experiences and best practices.
Raise awareness of health issues and disparities: The summits served as a platform to highlight important health issues facing New Mexico communities and promote public awareness of these challenges.
These June 2024 Summits were designed to empower Health Councils to advocate for the needs of their communities and contribute to improving the health and well-being of all New Mexicans.
