Health Council + Public Health Specialist

The Public Health Specialist will be responsible for providing high-level program management and capacity building programming and technical support for NM Alliance of Health Councils (NMAHC) and its network of health councils. Duties include planning, implementing and managing daily operations to achieve program goals and deliverables in a timely manner, with quality, and within budget, while providing exemplary support to Health Councils and key partnerships. The Specialist supports the overall success and collaborates on the growth of the organization and contributes to strategic priorities. The specialist will work closely with the Executive Director, Tribal Liaison, staff and New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) - Health Promotion regional teams in providing and coordinating training, technical assistance and other support activities for Health Councils and NMAHC's public health project activities.

Executive Director – New Mexico

The New Mexico Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), with a statewide membership of 730 is seeking a full-time Executive Director with demonstrated leadership and management skills. In addition, applicants should have a substantial knowledge of and a strong commitment to the social work profession and social work values, with an awareness of the diversity of social work practice. Applicants should also be able to engage, inspire, and mobilize the Association’s membership. The Chapter Executive Director reports to the NASW Deputy Director of Chapter Operations at the National Office and is accountable to the New Mexico Board of Directors.

Healthy Kids, Healthy Community Coordinator

Assist in the overall implementation of Healthy Kids, Healthy Community San Ildefonso (HKHC) within the Health and Human Services Department of the Pueblo de San Ildefonso. In particular, the coordinator is responsible for coordinating and providing technical assistance in three of the five HKHC settings - the Families and Community, Built Environment, and Food system. HKHC aims to create healthy environments to motivate children and families to make healthy food choices, be more physically active, and achieve healthier body weight and body composition. HKHC will promote community health by implementing alcohol, drug, and commercial tobacco prevention activities that focus on youth. The HKHC is an active participating member of the San Ildefonso Pueblo's Health Council.

Health & Human Services Director

The Director of Health and Human Services shall provide overall administration and operational direction to the Diabetes, CHR, Healthy Kids Initiatives, ICWA and family advocate programs. The Director for this position shall ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Tribal requirements and other rules and regulations applicable to the funding agreements, grants, contracts and memoranda of agreements. The Director shall establish goal and objectives of the programs; ensure that department managers seek funding in a timely manner to increase their resources base; prepare annual budgets and monitor expenditures. In addition, this position shall advocate and represent San Ildefonso with applicable agencies to promote the Department of Health and Human Services Programs.

Tribal Public Health Educator

Assist in the overall implementation of public health awareness and education for the Pueblo de San Ildefonso within the Health and Human Services Department (HHS) of the Pueblo de San Ildefonso. The focus of this position is to address all aspects of physical, mental, social, and nutritional health needs of Tribal Members and their families through a public health lens. In particular, the public health educator is responsible to coordinate and provide assistance to various members of the tribal public health team including community health representatives, the Health and Human Services director and the Pueblo's leadership. The Tribal Public Health Educator will promote community health by implementing strategies to for public and private health agencies and personnel to improve health disparities and meet public health mission and goals. The Tribal Public Health Educator is an active participating member of the San Ildefonso Pueblo's Health Council initiatives.
