• Welcome to the New Mexico Alliance of Health Councils (NMAHC) a statewide coalition of the state’s 39 county and tribal health councils and their supporters.  The Alliance was created in 2010 to support and strengthen the health councils, and to provide a common voice on behalf of community health improvement in New Mexico.

  • New Mexico’s County and Tribal Health Councils  were created by the New Mexico State Legislature in 1991.  Since then, the councils have played a key role in the state’s public health system by identifying local health needs, establishing community priorities and plans, and implementing local solutions.  The health councils have also attracted millions of dollars in funding to support programs and services to improve the health of their communities. 

New Mexico Alliance of Health Councils seeks new Executive Director

The New Mexico Alliance of Health Councils has an opening for Executive Director. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can take the organization to the next level. The Executive Director is a strong leader who is familiar with the public health system in New Mexico and understands health councils integral role in that system. This person is also familiar with the New Mexico legislative process and is able to be a strong advocate for health councils at the state and local levels.The scope of this job is statewide, part time, and requires travel and the ability to work collaboratively in a virtual environment.
