The gathering will provide an opportunity for participants to share with one another effective strategies, policies and practices designed to advance health equity in rural communities, low-income communities, and communities of color.

Day 1 (11:00 AM - 4:30 PM) will offer health council coordinators and members the opportunity to participate in Organizational Development and Technical Assistance. Day 1 will also include an optional site visit to the Farmers’ Market in the evening (5:00-pm-6:00pm).

Day 2 (8:00 AM - 3:30 PM), will offer health councils, health impact assessment teams and community organizations/coalitions who are working to advance health equity networking opportunities, along with in-depth workshops on moving our work forward with a focus on Civic Engagement and Moving from Planning to Policy /Action.

Registration is free, however, we are limited in space – so please register early.  Registration will close when we hit our limit or on October 3, 2014, whichever comes first.

The NM Health Equity Partnership is able to provide mileage reimbursement (carpooling is encouraged) and 1 night lodging (October 16th) for participants traveling over 45 miles. Because reimbursements for mileage and lodging are limited, preference will be given to health council coordinators and members, health impact teams and other partners working to advance health equity.

To reserve a room, let us know about special dietary needs/preferences, other accommodations needed, or should you have questions, please contact Yolanda Cruz at ycruz@nmhealthequitypartnership.org

Please pass this invitation to anyone who may be interested
